Foot Friday originally started as a joke.

"A girl who believed in 'grounding' in my high school would always show up to English class with no shoes on. My friends and I thought it was so bizarre and strange that someone would want to walk the dirty hallway floors with just their bare feet. One day, we decided to show up on Friday without any shoes to see how she would react, and low and behold, she was enthralled.
